FinTalkr completes capital raise, appoints new Director Craig Apps

Sydney, Australia – April 22, 2025 — FinTalkr, the leader in AI-powered conversational intelligence for the financial services sector, is proud to announce the successful completion of a strategic capital raise and the appointment of Craig Apps as Director and significant shareholder.

Craig Apps, former Head of Innovation at HUB24 and founder of Agility Technologies, joins the business with deep expertise in fintech, digital transformation, and automation. His investment and board appointment represent a major step forward for FinTalkr’s expansion plans. “I am thrilled to join FinTalkr as a Director and significant shareholder,” said Craig Apps. “The technology developed by the team is best-in-class — turning unstructured inputs such as voice and documents into structured, actionable data that drives automation, compliance, and efficiency across industries. It’s a privilege to work alongside founders James Wartho (FinTalkr CEO) and Ashley Jeffs (FinTalkr CTO), whose leadership and vision have created a platform with enormous potential in financial advice and beyond.”

FinTalkr Chief Executive Officer, James Wartho welcomed the appointment, highlighting the significance of both the capital raise and Craig Apps’ involvement. “After five years of building FinTalkr into a category leader, this capital raise gives us the financial resources to take the platform to the next level,” said James Wartho. “That means more features, greater scale, and increased benefit for our clients. We’re thrilled to have someone of Craig’s calibre join our journey.”

The capital raise also marks the formation of a new parent entity, Talkr Group, which will oversee FinTalkr and its sister product, MyTalkr. Talkr Group will focus on expanding the core technology into new verticals and use cases, taking advantage of its flexible AI/ML engine that enables automation across any voice-driven business process.

Craig Apps and James Wartho first met in 2015 during a project between James’ consulting firm Fifth Logic and Pershing Securities Australia, then a key client of Agility Technologies. Their paths crossed again during Craig’s tenure at HUB24, where he headed the Innovation Lab including research into voice-based structured data solutions. “The vision we had years ago is now achievable at scale,” said Craig Apps. “And the platform James and Ashley have built is exactly what we need to bring that vision to life across industries.”

The team at FinTalkr is now preparing to expand further, with product enhancements, new integrations, and cross-sector deployments already underway under a new Talkr Group umbrella.
